The Young Architects of Spain (YAS) exhibition at the University of Houston’s Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture’s

The cities of the future are being shaped by a new generation of architects. Many of these visionaries are honing their talents on the other side of the Atlantic, but Houstonians can sample their work without leaving town.
The Young Architects of Spain (YAS) exhibition will visit the University of Houston’s Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture’s first floor atrium Jan. 26 – April 1.

University of  Houston’s Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture

Presented by the college and the Consulate General of Spain in Houston, YAS will feature the works of more than 60 rising architectural stars under age 40. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
YAS will kick off with a panel discussion featuring curators Jesús María Aparicio and Jesús Donaire and respondent Carlos Jiménez at 6 p.m., Jan. 26. A reception will follow the panel at 7 p.m.

Additional YAS events include lectures by some of the exhibition’s featured architects. Times and dates for these events are as follows:

• 6 p.m., Feb. 7: Work in Progress by Elias Torres of Martinez Lapeña and Torres Architects of Barcelona
• 6 p.m., Feb. 21: Stressed Mass by Antón García Abril of Ensamble of Madrid
